Governor Bill Richardson's Mother Passes at Age 97

Maria Luisa Lopez Collada, 97, passed away peacefully today in Cuernavaca, Mexico. She was surrounded by family including he lastr son, Governor Bill Richardson and his wife Barbara Richardson; and daughter, Dr. Vesta Richardson.  She was comfortable and showed her fighting spirit until the end.

In her last conversations with the Governor she asked him to convey her best wishes to the hundreds of New Mexicans she met during her sons campaigns for Congress and the first Governors race.   Maria Luisa Lopez Collada will be missed but will be fondly remembered by many both in her native Mexico and the United States.
