A plentiful and inexpensive supply of natural gas from shale rock has led to cheaper electricity for consumers and industry, the revival of US manufacturing and greater US energy independence.

His legislative contributions were far reaching as he authored major legislation on health care, education, roads and taxes. He single handedly ushered the end of the onerous food tax and lowered taxes for every New Mexican.

Car Charging Group, Inc., a nationwide provider of convenient electric vehicle (EV) charging services, announced today the appointment of former Secretary of the United States Department of Energy, former Ambassador to the United Nations, and former Governor of New Mexico, Bill Richardson, as the Chairman of its Board of Directors.  Bill Richardson recently completed his second term as Governor of New Mexico, where in 2006, he was re-elected by the largest margin of victory for any Governor in state history.

Peruvian Ambassador to the United States, Harold Forsyth, traveled to New Mexico to honor Governor Bill Richardson with the highest Peruvian decoration the “Order of Merit for Distinguished Services.”   On Thursday, December 6th the Peruvian Ambassador bestowed this decoration to the Governor at the home of Bill and Alicia Miller in Santa Fe.  The Order of Merit for Distinguished Services is in rank of Grand Cross.  This order was established on July 18, 1950 to honor Peruvians and foreign nationals as recognition for their distinguished contributions to the prestige of Peru and to honor the valuable services rendered to the country in the fields of politics, arts, sciences, industry and commerce.

SANTA FE – “Bob Schwartz was a crime fighter to the core. As a District Attorney and as a Judge he always sought rightful justice and protections for victims.  As my Crime Advisor he was involved in significant anti-crime legislation involving DWI “three strikes you're out” and victims relief.  He was also a colorful character who loved life.  Needless to say he will be sorely missed.” – Governor Bill Richardson

New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson met with Burmese political leader, Aung San Suu Kyi on October 11, 2012 in Rangoon, Myanmar.    Richardson will spend five days in Myanmar.  During his stay, the Governor will meet with local political leaders to promote democracy.
