Governor Bill Richardson Releases Statement on Arizona Immigration Law

SANTA FE – Former New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson today released the following statement on the United States Supreme Court ruling on Arizona’s SB 1070:

“While the Supreme Court struck down most of Arizona’s onerous laws, it left intact the show me your papers provision which is troublesome and could cause racial profiling. This is a serious setback for Hispanic civil rights.”
