Former New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson met with Burmese political leader, Aung San Suu Kyi in Yangon, Myanmar on October 11, 2012. While in Yangon, Richardson also met with US Ambassador Derek Mitchell. The Governor then traveled to the capital city of Naypyidaw to meet with Vice President H.E. Dr. Sai Mauk Khan, Vice President of the Republic of Myanmar and Ministry Officials. Richardson´s trip is part of a five day trip to promote democracy where he will meet with business and political leaders in Rangoon and Naypyidaw.
